1. I am not into the casino-scene (I was there for a conference) and was tortured by the smoky gaming area, the characters who frequent casinos, and the lack of outdoor views.

2. The Summit at Grand Sierra Resort was too dark (rooms are black) and lacked customary TV access (no HBO), an indoor pool, and a shuttle to downtown ($14 taxi one way, $2 city bus return trip).
