1. parking note: we read about the expensive hotel parking fee, so we parked our car at the garage across from the convention center overnight.

8. The gardens are lovely and staff are friendly, my only grip is that eating/drinking in the hotel is pretty expensive ($50 for two for very basic breakfasts) and there isn't really anywhere nearby where you can sneak out for a coffee or to buy a bottle of water.

9. There is a nice french cafe (A la folie) on Purdy Ave (about 5 mins away) which has great coffee and crepes if you want a less expensive breakfast option.

10. I would recommend The Standard as a great alternative to Ocean Drive hotels, the service we recieved was good, the drinks were expensive.
