1. If you are after a flashy hotel stay at the Moana Surfrider or Royal Hawaiian which are excelent but expensive.

2. My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at the Pacific Beach--we stayed during christmas one of the most expensive times to visit Hawaii but found that we received a great price by booking online (I did check with their 1-800 service but they could not match the online price).
