1. Parking for a car was very expensive at the hotel - $15 a night - but this is pretty standard for Waikiki unfortunately.

5. I guess the quality of beds (no pillow top at the Hawaii Prince Hotel) and the general feel of a hotel (modern, luxurious) doesn't affect its star level unfortunately.

7. unfortunately, if you book through Priceline you will probably end up between floors 5-10 (cheaper rate = less ocean view, [33 floors total]).
