1. The only downside to my entire trip had absolutely nothing negative to do with Hotel Helix.

The negatives: no coffee maker in the room, no clue in the room as to how to open the mini-bar (you're supposed to know that you should go down to the front desk and ask for the key), the bathroom is small and not 'luxe,' the water pressure in the shower is low, it is hard to make fine adjustments to the temperature in the shower, and in my room at least the knob for the shower was stuck and I had to have someone from the front desk come up and turn it on.

Few minor negatives: its several blocks to the metro, not crazy far, but its a little bit of a walk, when the trash bins out back get emptied in the morning its super loud (this probably wouldn't be an issue if you stayed in a room on the front side of the hotel), you have to join the Klimpton rewards program to get free internet.
