1. We enjoyed walking from the hotel to explore Old Town; there were many restaurants and shops within walking distance.

The Inn's about 10-15 minute walk from the Trolley (great way to get around to certain parts of town san car), Old Town Historical State Park is minutes away, as are tons of Mexican restaurants, shops, etc. Great find--much better than the more expensive Westin in the Gaslamp District, which we didn't like at all anyway.
