The positives:-Super helpful front desk staff, particularly Sachin and Patrick-Location - right on the beach and boardwalk-Rooms had fridge, microwave and safe-Beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels available at no extra cost-Great value - free internet, continental breakfast and $10 secured parking-Good sized room-Close to Ralph's grocery storeOverall view:This is an older property on the beach.

6. Perhaps $350 a night is slightly on the high side for an hotel with no bar or restaurant and a no more than OK pool area but service like this made it feel like good value.

Pros: free wireless internet!free breakfast until 10am, enclosed outdoor pool (for wind protection), right on boardwalk, clean/bright rooms and good value, unlimited towels for pool/beach, affordable private parking, friendly employees, and great location in Pacific Beach neighborhood to ocean and nearby restaurants (see other TripAdvisor reviews: try the Green Flash and the Fishery, avoid Gringos Cantina).

10. We booked a limited view king-bed room on the hotel website because it was the best value in our opinion (compared to the slightly more expensive partial view and most expensive ocean view); the front desk let us check out a partial view room when we arrived in case we wanted to upgrade.
