5. Dinner at hotel is too pricey, but breakfast on the terrace restaurant was great - lovely setting, though most days we nearby outside at the River Cafe, a few steps from the hotel.

7. The staff by the way were exceptionally friendly, self-described 'individual concierges' and they recommended a fabulous place for breakfast about a 15 minute walk away--Mother's--and a great dinner/jazz club--Jimmy Mak's(not sure of spelling).

8. Of course, Portland offers plenty of choice when it comes to eating out, so we didn't make use of the hotel restaurant until our last morning, when it was more convenient to simply eat breakfast and go.
