So the first night we parked the car at like 6pm and paid for 1 hour parking I believe, and I think
street
parking is free from 7pm to 8am, so he moved the car at 8am into the Smart Park at 4th and Alder.

If you're a foodie or want to be well nourished, I recommend the Bijou Cafe across the
street
, which offers fresh, local and nutrious fare -- it's one of Portland's best breakfast spots.

The lobby (at
street

On the one day that we had a rental car, we were able to park overnight on the
street
right next to the hotel for free; there are also several nearby garages if you want to avoid the hotel's parking charge.
