4. The hotel is old, elegant and yes, somewhat expensive for the eating establishments, etc. However, when you compare their prices to comparable hotels in other big cities, i.e. San Francisco, New York, Chicago, the Brown is still a bargain.
"Get real people! This is a classy old hotel, not Days Inn. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/28/2011 Vote
5. We had a huge, quiet, and very comfortable room at a very reasonable price.

6. One caveat -- the concierge recommended and booked the 'Super Shuttle' van over a taxi to the airport since, at $19, it was better than 1/2 the price of a taxi.
"Lovely & Memorable Respite - grande dame with modern amenities and welcoming staff. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/6/2010 Vote
7. Since the hotel is the original structure, the rooms are unusally configured but have been sufficiently modernized to satisfy me; I booked at a discounted weekend rate and the room was a very good value for price; nice corner room with City views; ample for solo traveler with Queen-sized bed; incredibly quiet with super comfortable bedding, flatscreen TV, and 24-hour room service that was not astronmomically priced.

8. They do have the best price; I wish we had.

10. I typically go to Elizabeth Arden back home and thought the prices were comparable, but the experience much more unique in that the Brown is older, more historic, and so more memorable.
