The
price
was a bit prohibitive to enjoy more than once in a while, but great for a special night out.

The hotel is old, elegant and yes, somewhat expensive for the eating establishments, etc. However, when you compare their
price
s to comparable hotels in other big cities, i.e. San Francisco, New York, Chicago, the Brown is still a bargain.

One caveat -- the concierge recommended and booked the 'Super Shuttle' van over a taxi to the airport since, at $19, it was better than 1/2 the
price
of a taxi.

Since the hotel is the original structure, the rooms are unusally configured but have been sufficiently modernized to satisfy me; I booked at a discounted weekend rate and the room was a very good value for
price
; nice corner room with City views; ample for solo traveler with Queen-sized bed; incredibly quiet with super comfortable bedding, flatscreen TV, and 24-hour room service that was not astronmomically
price
d.

I typically go to Elizabeth Arden back home and thought the
price
s were comparable, but the experience much more unique in that the Brown is older, more historic, and so more memorable.
