But then we discovered that the hotel was not at all full that night (meaing the family could have been isolated from other guests) and resentment set in not least because we were told that a) a hotel policy involving inquiry as to whether guests have children with them is discriminatory and b) if the family wanted a kingsize bed (making them certain candidates as our next-door neighbours) and they were refused such an arrangement that too was discriminatory.
