4. The adjacent Grand Canal Shops also offer shopping and restaurants in a very cool setting, almost like you're walking down a street in Venice.

5. The Mirage across the street has some beautifully renovated rooms with plush beds for roughly the same or cheaper rates, so that would be my preference in the future if I wasn't prepared to splurge on the Wynns/Encores/Cosmopolitan hotels of the world.

Pros: - very good size of room - good variety of eateries and price ranges with Fashion Show Mall right across the street for even cheaper choices - good vibe on the casino floor (controlled fun I would say) - loved the pool areasCons: - broken washroom fixtures in the room - furniture had significant stains on the cushions - the place is just huge which makes getting in and out to the street a very long walk - too bad the canals at the front were drained.

9. The inside of the hotel was amazingly decorated with ornate ceilings in the main lobby and a canal running through the shopping area of the hotel with the shops all done like buildings on a venice street.
