2. The hotel is located at I-35 and Koenig Lane so getting downtown was a breeze (never during drive times) and getting down to the funky fun North Austin restaurants was easy via Lamar Avenue.

3. Even the coffee cups are generously large and there's always plenty of fresh coffee from large restaurant coffee makers - not small thermos pitchers that are so common now.

A few things we were pleasantly surprised about: full breakfast every morning (everything from eggs, meats, and homemade waffles to yogurt, fruit and oatmeal); the beautiful patio area beside the pool (room for several tables); the wonderful service from the front desk (we asked and received many great recommendations for restaurants, shopping areas, quick and easy directions); great internet access.

6. Ok so the staff aren't particularly charming or engaging but they give you a room key and tell you where the nearest Mexican restaurant is, which is about the limits of their job description.
