1. The staff were great and the fact that they have bikes for rent is a bonus in Austin.

This place stands out from your normal hotel on quite a few fronts - there's a lot of attention to detail and to design (great courtyard area, a slightly offbeat, boho feel to the rooms, lovely landscaping etc) and the laid back but friendly staff and eco friendly / social conscience approach to things stands out too.
