1. We chose Hotel San Jose because it seemed to represent the best balance of authenticity, location and because it had the european style suite which the four of us could share at a reasonable cost.

3. I had originally booked myself to stay for four nights in a shared bath suite, but HSJ had overbooked two of my nights and I was given a single bedroom for those nights at the same cost ($95) which was really kind of them to do.

5. I`m used to paying extra for hip in Manhattan, but in Austin that`s too high a cost for too little hip.

6. So if you want my advice, (for the same per-night cost), you can stay at one of the aforementioned hotels that are located even closer to downtown Austin, and offer the Altruism and amenities you’ve come to expect when staying as someone’s guest.
