8. It's between some very nice restaurants of the city with upscale customers so you don't see homeless people in front of the hotel, but they exist in the other blocks.

To sum it up:* not in the best neighborhood* clean enough, but the rooms are fairly old* rooms are small (but big enough for me)* staff is very nice* there is a great bar across the street (with free WIFI)* there are nice restaurants nextdoor (both sides)* it has a great connection to the san francisco public transport (MUNI).

10. Used to live in the neighborhood, so I think it has a great location-- easy access to MUNI, BART, good restaurants within walking distance, walked to the Castro, Hayes Valley, Mission district, SOMA, SF Opera and Symphony.
