1. He was not able to fix the problem, which for a tourist traveling not only with things like money/passport but also laptop/home keys etc, this is not convenient.

2. Yes they exist, but they do in Sydney too, They dont bother you, and offer a friendly greeting, even if you dont give them money.

6. There are a lot of aggressive homeless folks about who will ask for money, etc. Some will even reach out and grab your arm, follow you around, etc. I don't think they are violent, per se, but I would not recommend walking around there at night alone.
