3. I will say the housekeeping is needing some support, the room carpets are spotted and it wouldn't be so tough to fix that, Some of the sheets were threadbare, and the appliances in the room were 'iffy'.

4. We contacted the manager and housekeeping was sent to our room; she said she was surprised, they don't have a bedbug problem (reading the reports on this site, it sounds like they know they have an infestation).

The service was first-rate, from the housekeeping staff to the valet (amazingly quick) to the front desk attendants, who were eager to help and give advice and who even made an unreasonably large number of copies for me absolutely free of charge just to make up for some minor problems I had printing out some documents.

8. I can tolerate a dated room, but unfortunately that along with poor housekeeping, maintenance and management will keep me from staying at The Powell when I do get to visit San Fran for pleasure.
