1. The hotel is within walking distance to a lot of things, but it's also easy to catch a cab to take you where you need to go.

3. There was no coffee in that joke of a lobby so when I asked for coffee, she said I would have to J-walk across the street to the Best Western Americana if I wanted a cup.

4. Having said that, the hotel is quite comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly and a few minute walk to Market Street (and another few minute walk north/south) you are in a good area.

5. I would recommend having a partner to walk with at night (especially if you are a woman or alone) or taking a taxi cab.

6. I stayed for 5 nights whilst I was at a conference at the Moscone centre (2 blocks north) and although it's true it's not in the most salubrious part of town it's very a short walk to the moscone and well within walking distance of union square and is well served by public transport.

7. I'm rating the location low only because it's not necessarily in an area that you'd want to walk around in (especially at night), but kudos to the hotel for doing everything they can to make up for that.

8. i walked back to the hotel with 2 friends around 12:30am from union square and the walk was not the safest.

9. It's about a 15 minute walk to Union Square and only a couple of minutes to the shops on Market Street or some great cafes on Folsom Street.
