4. It's about a 15 minute walk to Union Square and only a couple of minutes to the shops on Market Street or some great cafes on Folsom Street.

5. FIRST, Let me begin by posting that as we were looking for the Carriage Inn on 7th Street, we spotted the BEST WESTERN sign, which has always been a welcoming sight, especially after a long drive.

6. There was no coffee in that joke of a lobby so when I asked for coffee, she said I would have to J-walk across the street to the Best Western Americana if I wanted a cup.

7. The CARRIAGE INN is DIRECTLY across the street from the Best Western Americana.

8. The Best Western Americania is directly across the street, and you have access to use its pool, which we didn't use, but which looked nice enough (we could see it from our room).

9. Our room looked out over 7th St (a 4-lane 1-way street, not overly busy) and was very quiet in the evenings, and we had no trouble sleeping (and I'm a light sleeper).

10. You can meet some strangers on the streets but they are not aggressive and in SF you can meet homeless people and strangers in the best part of Market street around 3rd and 4th streets.
