1. The bed was comfy, everything was clean and the part of the city that it is in is really fun - right across the street from the Zoo and I took serveral wonderful walks along Skyline Blvd trail near the ocean.
2. The Ocean Park delivered on both counts, we slept like babies and the off-street, often covered, parking was just what we needed.
3. and if you like riding streetcars, then transfer at Castro and ride the historic F line streetcars down to Market Street or all the way to Fisherman's WharfThe real benefit of it's position is being just a few blocks from the ocean and some splendid walks.

4. The quiet streets are pierced by the braking / turning noise of the transit cars, and you can hear it through ear plugs.
5. He and his wife have maintained this GORGEOUS art deco property impeccably, with its lovely gardens and courtyard, beautiful paint job, a great original neon sign (facing out to the street, so not a problem), and festive white lights framing the entryway.

6. The location of the OP is perfect if you like to walk and during the week I was there I walked to the Harding Park Golf Course - site of the 2009 President's Cup Matches, The SF Zoo is across the street, Fort Funston - great if you have a dog, Golden Gate Park - spectacular in every way and, of course, the beach that's only 2 short blocks away.
7. As an added bonus, the L Taraval runs right on the street in front of the motel, so its not difficult to get downtown with public transportation.
8. The L-Taraval streetcar leaves from across the street, and it is a fun and easy ride to downtown San Francisco and all the tourist sites.
9. Good off-street parking for cars.
10. The beach is an easy walk, Java Beach Cafe has killer food, beer, coffee, free internet, the Zoo couldn't be much closer, and as I said, public transit is a snap with the stop being across the street.
