6. All these areas are also accessed by bus but we enjoyed walking the streets and taking in the beautiful architecture and sites of the city.

7. Walking distance to State street and magnificent mile (shopping) downtown and a little longer walk to art institute and grant park/ millennium park.

We ate at Xoco (Rick Bayless' Mexican street food--very good), Maggiano's Little Italy (good), Rock Bottom Bar and Grill (good burgers and on-site brewed beers), Ben Pao's (Chinese--very good) and the Public House (brew pub with an excellent beer selection and very good food) which is a few steps away from the front door of the hotel.

9. If you like Irish food, I suggest Fado - just down Clark street-best bread pudding I've ever had.

10. Try Snickers Bar and Grill (don't let the looks fool you - it was great) down the street for cheap, filling and delicious breakfast (fluffiest pancakes ever!).
