1. It was handy to both uptown and downtown Manhattan and there were a nice collection of shops, bars and restaurants.

4. The Hampton Soho is not especially central (maybe 30 minutes walk to Union Square and the same again to where 5th Avenue meets Central Park) but it is well located for Soho, Chelsea, Tribeca and the downtown areas and has excellent subway links and plentiful cabs passing just steps from the front door.

9. Location is great - basically across the street from what is 'officially' SoHo, close to two subway stops and extremely well connected, downtown within walking distance, and the traffic on Watts St mentioned in other reviews was quite heavy at rush hour but never a real hassle.
