1. I love the neighborhood, a curious mixture of working class and gentrified population, lots of good eateries, and above all, a cozy corner to sleep.

6. An express subway ride away from Times Square and Penn Station, it's in a neighborhood with an incredible array of typical New York shops (Zabar's, Citarella, Harry's Shoes, The Town Shop) that offer much more than the more touristy areas.
