This hotel has a beautiful restaurant we did not eat in but it also has a fun, pretty bar in the lower level, a covered area to sit outside on the street to have a drink or, yes, a quiet cigarette, and we were able to walk to a myriad of the best spots in Soho in just minutes because of kind advice from the concierge or front desk.

8. The subway is 2 short blocks away, so access to Broadway, etc. was very easy, and its location makes it possible to walk for less than 10 minutes to get the subway up the east side of Manhattan.
