1. This is the best location for a holiday in Manhattan, Subway 5 minutes away and a short walk to the empire state building and broadway, only a nice gentle walk from times square, via lots of good craft ale bars.

2. If you don't want to travel too far The Barking Dog is great for breakfast and the Cask bar round the block is great for drinks and food in the evening.

3. Right at the corner of 34th and Lexington on the same block as the Dumont is the Murray Hill Market, a well stocked provision shop which is also a 24 hour deli with the most delectable fresh sandwich and salad bar.
