1. Paia Fish Market just across the street on the corner is the best place to get the fresh catch of the day from the local fishermen (one of the best meals for the price on the island) and lots of other great cafes and bars in Paia as well.

2. You can walk next door to Flatbread restaurant for a meal (really great pizza!) or go to the Paia Fish Market (across the street), or go to Jacques for sushi and a good bar scene, or walk directly across the street to Anthony's coffee (which has to be my favorite coffee houses anywhere and they serve a great breakfast and lunch).

5. And you have all the benefits of being in town with plenty of yummy casual restaurant choices, coffee bars, shops, etc. I only wish we had checked out the beach behind the hotel sooner.

9. Two Thanksgivings ago I was in Maui and ended up passing through Paia, where I caught Willie Nelson playing a full set at a local Paia honky tonk bar, which he is said (?) to own a piece of (I forget the name of the bar/club but it's still there, right next to Jacques).
