1. Probably the best staff I have encountered in a US hotel in a couple of years, very friendly, knowledgable and efficient.

That isn't a big deal though because Whalers Village is a 5-10 min c asual walk from the hotel and there are various restaurants there with great happy hour deals, etc. Long story short, this hotel is perfect because of the great staff, perfect location, nice rooms, etc. I would for sure stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a resort on Maui.

4. the pools were amazing though and the snorkeling off the beach in front of the hotel is better than anywhere and the massage at the resort was fabulous.

8. --There is an evening cliff diving that we did not watch because prior to being at the hotel I thought this was something really unique and amazing (from high up), but it turned out anyone during the day could go to the top of the Black Rock and dive off.
