1. The airport in Hilo is as small as they come, and the open-air gates, check-in area, and other waiting areas are cool, but give it a small-town, more laid-back atmosphere.

2. In the morning we enjoyed the free cooked to order breakfast (you have three choices- fresh fruit, traditional eggs and sausage or pancakes and bacon- be sure to get your voucher when you check-in) in the nice attached restaurant.

4. They spent a long time during check-in to make sure I was charged for the crib, but when I got to my room it wasn't there.

8. We had booked a standard room direct with the hotel website and on check in we were given an ocean view room with balcony (wall and dividers to prevent all but the most enthusiastic cat burglar).
