1. The last time we stayed in NYC we had a hotel room with an excellent view, and though we certainly appreciated it, we spent very little time actually _in_ our room.

7. Our room was on the 3rd floor which meant we had a lovely view of an outside stairwell and the side of the building next door which was a bit dispointing but to be honest we didn't spend enough time in the room for it be a problem.

8. Some travel tips - the wait for the empire state building and sky ride was ridiculous - Top of the rock was much quicker with just as good a view.

9. On return to NYC we stayed in the front of the hotel in a much larger room and it had a good view of the small park opposite.

10. Ask for a room on the east side - til they build the new building next door, you'll have large windows with a nice view (the west side rooms seem to have narrow windows facing a narrow alley).
