4. The inner courtyard and spa faciliities are also special--we even treated our teenage athlete to her first professional massage, which she loved-- and the hotel lends out boogie boards and beach chairs and has lemonade and ice water and even apples on offer in the beautiful, calm lobby.

5. get a suite in the upper floors there is view of the beach and backyard with pool and take in the free thursday bamboozler party in there lobby we enjoyed a free mini massage and yukulele musician.

6. they had a musician playing guitar, free appetizers and drinks, free 5-minute chair massages, and even a sketch artist!(Although I didn't use the spa during our visit, the chair massage was excellent, so I assume the spa is, too) The Bamboo is on Kuhio Avenue, one block from the main section of Waikiki Beach.

8. Thursdays was Bamboozle day, between 5-6, free cocktails, nibblies, music ,massage , great way to meet staff and other tourists.

We took advantage of most of what the Bamboo had to offer: the continental breakfast in the beautiful courtyard; cooling off in the lovely pool and then relaxing in the hot tub and sauna; preparing hor d'oeuvres in the well-outfitted kitchenette and then having cocktails on our lanai overlooking the pool; using the DVD player to watch movies and listen to music; getting a cup of tea from the complimentary beverage station and choosing a book from the small library in the lobby; and having an absolutely wonderful massage at the Spa.
