1. Friendly and helpful staff (the manager was even prepared to use his own credit card to help us book a flight out, when our flight with a newly non-existent airline was no longer available and our European credit card was not acceptable with Hawaiian Air).

5. I have to make special mention of the staff, particularly the assistant manager who went out of his way to try and sort out our arrangments for New Year's Eve, calling his contacts around the town and treating us like total VIPs.

7. Eventually we insisted on seeing the operations manager, and rooms were resolved, but there is no reason for us to have to work ourselves up into such an emotionally distressed state and put up with the myriad of disrespectful 'gestures' of customer service from staff.
