1. the breakfast was average fair but had great, fresh fruit and good coffee, nice little coffee bar inside lobby and close to a Starbucks.

6. There is also a great bar right next to the hotel called The Chart House where I became a local and was treated like a king for my 8 day stay.

In the other direction, five minutes walk away is the Ala Moana shopping centre which has a great food court with 20+ styles of food if you're looking for a cheap meal out, or a series of great restaurants and bars if you want something a little better and just as good as the overpriced and crowded restaurants in Waikiki.

Granted it was from the pool side bar, but the calamari tasted like and had the texture of an inner tube, the chicken 'caesar' was served undressed with a package of Kraft dressing on the side and the chicken (at least I think that's what it was) was a mysterious taste that put us off the whole dish.
