1. Here's the good:- Large rooms, especially for New York but really if you travel a good deal this is a generous room by any standards.

We have just returned from a six night stay at the affinia dumont, we arrived 2 hours berore check in time and we thought we might have to wait for check in but we were allowed to check in early and go to our room, we stayed in 2606 which was quite high with great views the large room was very clean with everything we could ever need, it had 2 large comfy double beds, a large working desk with connection to the internet for a fee we couldnt have done with out it for looking for sights to see, there is a small kitchen with everything u could need and a nice bathroom,the staff were always freindly greeting you with a smile coming in and going out and if you need something they were always on hand from a map to a recomended place to eat, the hotel is 2 blocks or 2 min walk to the subway which will get you to any were in new york, there is a deli on the same block a few doors up that is more like a small super market it is open 24/7 and sells everything,we could not recomend this hotel enough to anyone and when we return to new york we have a place we could call home for our stay.

Overall, here are the pros and cons:PROS:Large roomSoft sheets, very comfortable bedAveda bath productsLarge bathtub, good shower water pressureGreat locationBarking Dog Cafe was delicious for breakfast and right next doorGreat restaurants and bars nearby (we went to Blockheads, Bar XII, and Tonic- all fun neighborhood bars and Blockheads had $4 mojitos!)Matthew at the front desk was very friendly and accomodatingCONS:No bathrobes in the rooms as pictured on their website (when we asked about this, they said they provide them 'upon request' because too many people were stealing them).

231. Large, very comfortable bed (even a pillow menu!), breathtaking view of the skyline (often a rarity in other NY hotels) - we had a room on 31st floor - it was worth it.
