1. Getting to the poolside rooms on the second floor are a bit tricky but the exterior hallways are great - wonderful views of the pool and water.

The standouts at The Standard are: the beautiful bay-view infinity pool (a saltwater instead of chlorine pool, which I found very appealing); the whirlpool; the hamam/steamroom/sauna/showers area - I'd flown in from someplace very cold so these amenities were a real pleasure to indulge in and something different that The Standard offers (free for guests) that other hotels do not.

9. We ate at the restaurant three times over three days, and each time, the food and service was great -- and the food was healthy; also, the water view is beautiful.

10. Overall, the Standard has an A-plus pool, beautiful water view, great grounds and an excellent spa -- but the rooms are maybe a B or for some people, even a B-minus.
