1. He got our names on a couple of cool swanky bars and clubs guestlists and told us all the hot spots to hit while we were there.

6. On several occasions I was outright ignored by the staff at the pool or the bar and had to chase down coffee which I ordered with my breakfast (the food came right away but no coffee) or at the bar where my partner waited for a bartender to acknowledge his presence so he could order a drink.

7. On another night we sat near the (unattended) indoor bar and finally had to ask the front desk attendant to get us a waiter so we could order a drink.

8. The Standard is not a South Beach party hotel that revolves around a bar/nightclub scene, so if you want that The Standard is probably not the place for you.

9. Also, the bar closes at midnight (to appease its island neighbors), so we couldn't even have a quiet drink overlooking the bay after coming back from a late night dinner.

10. Plus as you walk in the lobby you notice there is a small bar/lounge area which is amazing especially on a Tuesday Night.
