1. The lobby is a great extension of your room and you can relax there to have a drink or coffee in the morning.
"Missing the Algonquin " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/2/2012 Vote
2. Rooms tiny, air-con noisy, lifts miniscule, New Yorker cartoon wallpaper wonderful, great cocktails just a collage of fascinating people in the lounge and lobby.
"Character rather than cutting edge " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/9/2012 Vote
3. The hotel was very nice and the lobby area was beautifully decorated but.
"NYC for New Years! Had a blast " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/19/2012 Vote

6. The lobby is very pleasing and this area may be used for drinks (although $21 for a martini is a bit high), light snacks, or just people watching.
"Algonquin yes and no " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/13/2011 Vote
7. The staff are excellent, the lobby is lovely however the regular rooms (I am sure the suites are much better) were 'just basic' bed was good, room was clean but the room was so small (and we have travelled Europe extensively and this is the smallest room we have ever had) the bathroom was tiny and old, they do have free coffee in the lobby BUT no coffee maker in the room, no bar fridge in the room and you need to get ice from room service.
"Good not Great, sorry but rooms not 4 star " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/19/2011 Vote
8. The Algonquin only had rooms avail starting at $450 so did a priceline bid expanding our search to other areas of NYC so our first night in the city was in the Empire State Building area at the Affinia Dumont hotel which was fabulous (their lobby was small) BUT huge newly renovated beautiful room, separate kitchen, loved the location again through priceline last minute at $299 + taxes and worth every penny.
"Good not Great, sorry but rooms not 4 star " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/19/2011 Vote
9. The staff is very accommodating, the restaurant/lounge/lobby still a great place.
"Perfect location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/12/2011 Vote
10. The lobby is gorgeous, but the drinks are EXPENSIVE.
"A neat experience " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/31/2011 Vote
