1. We usually stay downtown at the Kimpton but on a weekday with the ballgame the rooms were more than usual and I was traveling with my niece and nephew and needed at least two beds and a sofabed at a reasonable price since we weren't going to be there more than overnight.

4. I did like the hotel, I'm not sure that I would return as I don't know if I booked a room whether I'd get the room I booked or whether I would be placed in another horrible room, and that is the main reason I am undecided about the hotel for my next visit to San Diego.

5. The room rate was good for the area (about $125/night) but add in the taxes and $15/night for parking and I wonder if there weren't more reasonable locations.

6. I needed to be near Balboa Park for business reasons and this hotel seemed to fit my needs for a larger room, kitchenette, and proximity.

7. Jersey in the bar, the entertainment nightly, and frank in the dining room left us with NO reason to ever leave the hotel.

8. The rates are reasonable and the linens are fresh, but you have to pay $15 per day for valet parking, plus tax.

9. There is a really nice deck on the roof where they serve breakfast and lunch, but don't try to go to the top deck in the evening as the staff will tell you five different reasons why you are not allowed to go there including that it is a safety concern.

10. The kitchen also catered our convention banquet; the chef designed a special 3-course menu for a very reasonable cost and, again, the quality was tops.
