3. When I pointed out that they themselves confirmed two times that this mode of payment was acceptable, they simply returned my (already signed) cheques and said that they will charge my credit card.

4. Hotel staff said that they are sorry, but that their bank does not accept $500 travellers cheque notes.

5. After few minutes, a colleague of mine came out and told me that the hotel does not accept travellers cheques and asked me to go to the reception and pay by other means, otherwise the hotel will charge my credit card instead.
