1. You can renovate the interior with new finishings but the overall design and construction still shows thru.

2. I have stayed in hotels from new York City to Las Vegas, and I can honestly say this Doubletree by Hilton in Raleigh is one of the nicest hotels I have every stayed in.

4. I would recommend this hotel, but not if there was an event being hosted at the hotel and let me also say that there are other options within a 3 mile radius that would cost less and likely newer (FYI-There is a difference between a remodeled hotel and a new one).

7. I walked to the pool area and was welcomed by this sad, huge expanse of new, sun blasted hot concrete in the shape of the former pool.
"Renovation time!! Hotel buried their popular swimming pool under dirt & cement!!! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/13/2011 Vote
8. Bad news: no hotel shuttle (NCSU is a very big place, we had to get to / from a building that was 5 miles away, and without a hotel shuttle this is difficult; the hotel staff did not know about the free NCSU buses that are a block away -- but they run every 30 min and they have a strange schedule).
"Good and bad - mostly good " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/5/2011 Vote
9. The good news: the remodeling is over, the lobby is fine, there is no construction, ample parking, nice rooms.

10. We come in thinking great new make over looks like a old Holiday inn that needs a lot of work or sold to and off brand.
"Not the same southern hospitality we got on the rest of our trip or quality " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/25/2010 Vote
