3. no safe space to stash our purses and extra credit cards and cash while we boogied at Hopscotch, without going through the giant hassle of storing them at the front desk) and that the bathroom shower area had old fixtures and moldy walls, in contrast to the rest of the room including the toilet and sink which looked new.

4. In my experience, what differentiates a good hotel from a great one is not the amenities, or how new the hotel is, or the gym facilities, but the people who keep the hotel running in its day-to-day operations.

6. Apparently what happened is they gave a lot of the staff off and because it was new years eve the night before, they didn't have a clean double bed room.

7. We stayed at the Mariott for new Year's Eve and weren't crazy about their NYE dinner options and were at first pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant in the Sheraton almost empty (now we know why).

8. I told the front desk I would be back later while they worked on it and when i returned, I got my new key and a coupon for a free breakfast buffet for my troubles, without having to ask.

10. Rooms overall are slightly dingyFitness center is old, small and not invitingthe Marriot next door is new, has a Starbucks and rooms are much nicer.
