5. This hotel is not downtown - you need to take a streetcar to reach it or endure a half hour walk to get to the downtown core (not fun if it's cold or raining or you've been sightseeing all day).

7. Nice side point - just one stop south of the hotel is the Portland Aerial Tram which serves the research university that sits atop the hill -- quite fun for the little ones to take the roundtrip and excellent views of Mt.

8. - Clean rooms- Bathroom sink is separate from the shower / toilet area- Full kitchen amenities- funky/fun couch (my wife loved sitting there to read)- Very nice assortment to choose from at breakfast- Quick access to free trolley (last stop in fareless square)- VERY courteous and helpful staff.
