1. The shuttle isn't one of the fancy ones that drive by every 10 minutes, it was a battered old white van with a Travelodge plaque sitting on the dashboard.

4. The bottom line is this: it's nothing fancy, it's not new and modern, but if you don't mind a blast from the past straight back to 1980 and you need a comfortable bed and a hot shower in-between flights, you absolutely can't do better than Travelodge LAX.

8. For the money, I knew it would be a bit run down, but everything was clean, the internet worked the whole time and was free (in the other fancy hotel it was way expensive - I guess if your guests have money, you can soak them), the free breakfast kept me going - bagel, orange juice, fresh fruit.
