4. There are lots of good things about the Palomar -- pleasant lobby, comfortable rooms, great location right across from the SMU campus -- but the management and staff seem to think being cool is a substitute for being excellent.

5. Nice area with cabanas and comfortable chairs but the hot tub is very small for a hotel of this size - similar to a home unit - sits about 5 people comfortably - the biggest problem is the the hours it;s available.
