2. It is over-decorated in the public rooms to the extreme (which I happened to enjoy for the camp value) and the general appearance of the place is good.

5. However, we stayed in the room and funnily enough either got used to the noise or just didn't notice it after the first night, so if you do go make sure you ask whether the room is at the back where the generator is.

7. Basically, the menu offered typical generic hotel fare at a premium price.

8. The only other negative is that there wasn't always a doorman, which was difficult when I was returning alone to the hotel with a stroller, but there was always a lot of foot traffic so someone generally opened the doors for us.
