1. For reasons of cost (it was graduation week in NY, and hotel rates had doubled an tripled - no joke), and location, our TripAdvisor research took us to Astor on the Park.

6. The location is reasonable, and although its's about 50 blocks from midtown Manhatten, its a short 3 block walk to the A train subway and a 2 block walk to a small food store.

7. There is no coffee shop in the hotel, but there are vending machines for coffee, soft drinks, and candy, all at a reasonable price.

8. The hotel and its lobby and rooms are rather plain and devoid of any frills but the decor and aesthetics of the room were tasteful, pleasant and very reasonable given the price we paid.
