4. In fact, I would say that I can't remember ever staying anywhere where the staff seemed so happy and ready to help their guests in such a genuine and relaxed way.

7. Reception staff were happy to give details of local public baths but this isn't at all what I wanted & did somewhat mar my once in a lifetime stay in San Fran (like going for a nice two course meal to be told at the end that there is no dessert.

9. When the staff did ask them to leave at 11PM ( per the noise policy all guests are required to sign) the guests were not happy & were extrememely LOUD on their way past our door, even kicking it & banging on it.

10. Overall however we were happy with the Phoenix, although I have to admit that I don't think it is as cool as it would like to be, or perhaps used to be.
