2. some really strong points: parking is free, motor lodge style (this is a revamped 50's motor court hotel)nice big roomssecure entry gated with key access, nice pool area and outdoor lounging spots if SF weather ever permits, that is.

5. Not only did our car survive all night in the free parking lot (a big big plus for the Phoenix) but I felt very safe behind the gate to the hotel rooms that said 'don't mess with us.

9. First the negative, when we arrived we approached on foot up Eddy street ,that was a big mistake, the hotel is on the edge of the tenderloin district of SF,a somewhat challenged area of the city encompassing homeless, drug takers, and unsavoury characters,we felt very vulnerable with our cases and obvious tourist demenour,my advise is to get a cab from the bart station central or if you must walk from there by another route.
"friendly helpfull staff " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/15/2011 Vote
10. The beds were so comfy, both the room and the bathroom were spotless (so big thumbs up.
"Loved the Pheonix! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/20/2011 Vote
