8. fantastic location on Fourth 50 M from BART station, close to convention centre, SFMOMA at the heart of SF, hotel is elegant in a historic-compact-wrought iron and marble sort of way, rooms are smallish, but well appointed, comfy, spotless and nicely organised - you get a coffee and muffins to start the day .
