Everything about the hotel was just what I want from a hotel but so often don't find - not too large, beautiful design, great room, wonderful friendly service, good food, secluded pool area, fabulous outside area where you can watch the world of South Beach go by from an extremely stylish and comfortable bar.

The not-so-great parts: food and drinks were really expensive, with mandatory gratuity added to even a simple glass of wine (we're great tippers anyway, but this seemed like overkill); while the staff is extremely friendly, they aren't necessarily on the ball with their recommendations (two staffers gave us completely different and wrong information about renting bikes nearby, and we also got conflicting information about laundry services at the hotel); pool area is lackluster up above the alley out back (but doesn't really matter because the beach is so nice); rooms are stylish but not necessarily 'luxury' (e.

The highlights: the front patio/bar area is beautifully decorated and fantastic for people watching; the beach area right across the street is gorgeous white sand and very efficient with chairs and an umbrella complimentary for guests of the hotel; the room was simply but beautifully furnished and very stylish; the staff was extremely polite and friendly; overall a great vibe and really lovely experience at the hotel.
